The Global Village Code of Conduct.

There are no bars to entry in the Global Village. Anyone is welcome to reside here regardless of their mental acuity or physical dexterity. There is a global need for just about every skill and every cache of actionable knowledge that sustained the Industrial Park. However, all Residents are expected to adhere to the Global Village Code of Conduct.

The Global Village Code of Conduct coves the following topics:

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES - includes on-line behavior and respect for all Residents

VALUES - includes an honest, unbiased and unprejudiced persona

ACCOUNTABILITY - includes taking responsibility for your own actions, ensuring appropriate use of information, exercising diligence and duty of care obligations and avoiding conflicts of interest

STANDARD OF CONDUCT - includes proper computer, internet and email usage

STANDARD OF PRACTICE - includes defined policies and procedures
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS - includes complaint handling and specific penalties for any violation of the code.

 Engagement & Community Rules

  • Treat all users and colleagues fairly and equally. Stimulate conversation, be respectful of others’ views, and refrain from personal attacks.
  • Respect legitimate intellectual property rights, do not plagiarize work, and give credit to the originators of ideas.
  • Don’t share the posts of others without permission.

Discussion Group Etiquette

  • Avoid using the Internet to distribute defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal material.
  • Discriminatory, hostile or intimidating messages or language will not be tolerated, whether based on a person’s race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social or economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, or mental or physical ability.
  • The Global Village is an on-line community in which people of all backgrounds and cultures are treated with respect.
  • Keep subject lines concise and clear so that members can respond appropriately and easily search the archives.
  • Include only relevant portions of the original message in replies.
  • Only send a message to the entire community if everyone can benefit from it. Do not send “thank you” and “me too” replies to everyone.
  • Avoid administrative messages, such as remove me from the list (use the web interface to change your personal settings)..
  • Spamming and flaming are prohibited. Engaging is such behavior may result in expulsion from the Global Village .
  • Use caution when discussing products. Information shared among community members is available for all Residents to see unless specifically restricted.

Residents of the Global Village are committed to respect the privacy of all Users. Selling, renting, or sharing any personally-identifiable information is prohibited.

Legal Notice

Respect all Intellectual Property Rights of the Residents. When posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that they are permitted to share such material and/or have correctly cited the author of that material.

The Global Village  provides communication tools as a service for Residents. The Global Village Service Authority is not responsible for opinions and information shared among Users of the GV ISA. The Services Authority does monitor but does not moderate the flow of information among Users, but if any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of the Services Authority, the offending Resident may relinquish all or partial access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
